The Williams Renault

The Williams Renault Formula 1 Motor Racing Book, by Xavier Chimitis and Francois Granet. Dorling Kindersley, £9.99.

According to the PR spiel, this is published by Dorling Kindersley Adult Books, but it won’t take you more than a couple of minutes to suss out that this is geared towards youngsters. Already, one son of a Standard House father is lapping it up, and there’s another who’s desperately keen to get his two year-old mitts on it (though first he needs to learn which books you can use your crayons in and which you can’t).

Printed in full colour on high quality paper, it is a superb introduction to the sport for future generations of motor racing fans. Generally all aspects of a Grand Prix team and how it and its associated departments function are adequately explained in simple terms. Drivers, their helmet designs, their racewear, racing lines, telemetry equipment.. . it’s all here. Perfect for kids, and

extremely good value for money. SA
