First out
After lodging an entry for Gabriele Tarquini and building its first chassis, Lamberto Leoni’s First Racing team pulled out of the World Championship just two weeks before the Brazilian Grand Prix. Although no official reason was given, the team’s designer Richard Divila had already departed for Ligier, the car had failed its obligatory crash-test, and the anticipated supply of Judd V8 engines had been diverted to EuroBrun. First will now concentrate solely on its Formula 3000 programme.
