Volkswagen Wins First National Production-Car Trial

R. Oakes’ Volkswagen made best performance in last month’s Shenstone & District C.C. V. T. Fellows National Production-Car Trial, and another VW, driven by A. W. Clift, took the Shenstone Cup for best performance by a member of the organising Club. The class winners were :—

Front-engined Saloons, standard tyres, wheels under 16 in. dia.: F. D. Woodhall (Austin Se7en)—beating an A40.

Front-engined Open Cars, standard tyres, wheels under 16 in. dia.: B. D. Beeson (Austin Healey Sprite)—beating a TR2.

Front-engined Cars, standard tyres, wheels 16 in. dia. and over: R. N. Embley (Ford Popular)—beating another Popular, and an Austin Se7en.

Rear-engined Cars, standard tyres: I. Forfar (Volkswagen)—beating another VW and a Dauphine.

Front-engined Saloon Cars, non-standard tyres: R. J. Smith (Morris Mini-Minor)—beating another Mini-Minor and an Anglia.
