How much is a Las Vegas GP ticket? The price of watching every F1 race
How much does it cost to go to the Las Vegas GP – and is it the most expensive F1 race to attend? Here are the general admission ticket price for every world championship grand prix
It cost just seven shillings – £0.35 – to attend the very first world championship grand prix, held at Silverstone in 1950.
Fast-forward 74 years, and the average British GP weekend spectator forks out £544, but that pales in comparison to how much the Las Vegas F1 race will cost this weekend.
The 2024 Las Vegas GP sees the highest attendance prices of the modern-day season, due to the costliest VIP experiences on the entire calendar. Getting close to the action in Nevada over the three-day race weekend will set you back an average £1277.
This article isn’t for the champagne and caviar crowd though, it’s for the diehard motor sport fan who’s ready to roam from corner to corner, getting real value for their entry price money.
Below you can find the general admission ticket prices for every race on the 2024 F1 calendar. Note these are the ticket costs in their most basic forms, with no ‘early bird’ discounts applied, and without adding booking or other fees. Some are subject to dynamic pricing.
What are the most expensive F1 tickets?
While the Miami GP in recent years has shocked fans with its £140 tacos in VIP areas, Las Vegas has seen off all comers by setting new highs for the ticket prices – its basic three-day general admission comes in at £474.
For those on a slightly tighter budget, Miami offers the next most expensive with a three-day general admission ticket – known as the ‘Campus Pass’ – costing £343.
Silverstone has drawn complaints from fans in relation to rising ticket costs, particularly its dynamic pricing system. The cheapest British GP three-day GA is £319.
Keeping the American theme, the United States GP at Austin comes in at number four on £307 for a three-day GA ‘Grounds Ticket’.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, it’s the rich person’s playground Abu Dhabi which rounds out the top-five most expensive general admission tickets, costing £268.
Venues have justified their prices by pointing out their investment in additional entertainment around the racing action, such as concerts and experiences, which offer more value to ticketholders.
What are the cheapest F1 tickets?
In recent years the cheapest tickets to buy have been at the Chinese GP at just £53 for all three days. However getting hold of these over the last few seasons hasn’t been an easy due to the popularity of country’s first ever homegrown driver, Zhou Guanyu.
Added to this, none of the ‘GA’ tickets cover the whole of the Shanghai circuit. The tickets are allocated to certain zones, meaning that the one you buy only allows you into one zone e.g. the ‘Grass Stand’ next to the main grand stand just after Turn 16.
Next cheapest is also in the Far East, at Japan’s Suzuka circuit. Always a hugely popular race on what is regarded one of the best tracks in the world, the cheapest three-day GA pass can be obtained for £64, but you can only roam in the ‘West Open Area’.
If you don’t want to fly all the way to South East Asia, Imola represents by far and away the best value-for-money European hop with a ticket just a few pounds more than China. At the Emilia Romagna GP you can get a three-day general admission ticket at £67.
The Italian GP at Monza comes in at fourth with a GA pass just over £100, while rounding out the top five is Hungary at £104.
